KNOCK KNOCK,,,,,,,,

What do you mean, "Who's there?"

I know, I know, I've been absent for a long time.
I'm just now beginning to get my head above water.
Moving three hours south shouldn't have been so hard.
It wasn't.

It was the thirty something years worth of stuff that
has taken so long to sort.
Our house sold so fast, (thank you, God)
that we had only fifteen days to arrange movers,
finish packing, and get everything here.
Add in the remodeling, (which is ongoing)
and that's my story.

This painting was inspired by a wall paint color
that I used in two bedrooms.
Actually, I used the wall paint for parts of this painting, as I was painting directly on a wall
On joint compound, on panel.
What you're seeing is a small, detail portion of the work, which was 40x60 inches.I say it was that size, as I've since painted over it.
 All gone.
I wasn't happy with it,,,it wasn't what I'd envisioned,
so I've titled this piece

"Little White Lie"
which is also the name of the wall paint.

I hope you're having Super Summers where you live.
It's miserably hot here, tomorrow's forecast is 105  degrees, but it also is where we used to be.
I'm staying indoors and creating other works of art, like
window treatments.

Bringing this 55 year old house into the current century
is challenging, and some of it never will be,
but it's becoming very cozy and comfy.
I'm home.

Ahhhhh, so THAT'S what you've been up to? Gosh, little wonder you've been a little quiet as of late! Given only 15 days to pack would give me a complete break-down, I have nothing but awe for you at transporting everything at such short notice - the place sounds wonderful (if also a lot of work..), sounds as though you are well on your way to marking your stamp on it already - I'd love to see some before and after photo's!

Talking of photo's - you look absolutely beautiful, is that Jack I see you with?

Babs, I swear I was going to comment on an old post yesterday asking where you were! Well, here you are!
It's nice to see you. And I like the little white bird too! I guess he flew the copp.

I'm glad you're settling in. Welcome home.♥

Oh Babs, I'm so sorry you painted over the lie. This looked so good to me, but it's your house and I'm sure you've done something better by now.
Love those curtain panels and Jack, my god he is growing right up!

Hi Babs, welcome back!!! I knew what you were doing because you told us, and really we are all so busy it is a wonder we post at all!
15 days to pack is crazy! I hope you had some help. I love the bird too, but the important thing is that you paint what YOU like :-).
Beautiful photo!
Keep cool!!!

Wishing you a happy move in and new home. Take your time. It is a lot of STUFF I know as we just had to move ours around to get our floors done and walls painted last summer but I now feel like we are in a new house. (mostly because a lot of that STUFF stayed in the garage!!!! tee hee)

Nope, KJ,,,,it was time for him to fly away. Just like us.
Here we go,,,doesn't that feel great!
And it really is true that "home is where the heart" is. Mine's been here for quite a while.
XOXO

Shrinky, there were a few moments I thought I might be having a panic attack. So,,I stopped looking at the big picture and allowed myself only the box right in front of me.One box at a time.

You crack me up! That certainly IS me with Jack. I'm just disguised as his Mother.
;-)

Thanks Lolo,,and I'm glad you liked the bird. He was the only part of the whole that I did like,,somewhat. But the rest was a real stinker and had to go.

Kate, my little man starts kindergarten this fall, and I can't believe it. It's such a joy to be with him often,,,and then drive 5 minutes and be home.
Saturday his Dad drove him over with some cupcakes they'd made while his Mom was at work.
That's what makes it worth all the craziness.

Hey Annie,,
Crazy indeed.I'd already begun packing, as we'd already bought this house. But there was still so much to do!Not really much time to decide, donate, and pitch,,,so I just threw it all in boxes, and we've been sorting here.

Hi Suki!
Whew! We were so grateful to sell so fast. When the lady told us when they wanted possession,I had a talk with myself. "Yes I can,,yes I can",,and because I had to, I did!

Lynn, sshhhh,,,,some of the stuff we moved hadn't been unpacked for the 11 years we'd lived in that house.
That stuff may never be unpacked, as it's still in the garage here too!
:-D

Blue Sky,hi there, good to see you too!
Even though it's too hot, I still do the happy dance hourly.
That's a fun photo, isn't it?

Babs, I bet it has been so tiresome and stressful moving and packing, unpacking and all the work you and J have been doing the last few months. I hope you'll be able to breathe, relax and enjoy your new home there now. I know you'll be creating some awesome things in that wonderful new studio! Love ya lots, Lynnie <3

Lynnie, I've missed you!
My current studio is a small table set up in our little den.
The 'real' studio is having to wait till fall, as it's much too hot to be working on it now.It has to be integrated into the central heat and air. It's been hard work, yes,,,but I think we're ready to sit back and just coast for a while now.
Lotsa love from here too!

And your new baby,,,,,so precious!
And I just went back to look at your cat drawing again,,,,what a hoot!

Hey Cath, how are ya?
I hope you're staying warm,and I adore your poppies!
De-stressing is the name of the game here. Too hot to do anything else, ha!

Babs, it won't be long till it's fall and you can get that wonderful studio with all those windows set up and ready for creating after you get rested up a while. I can see the creative energy gearing up for fall now!! :)

Welcome home Babs! Little White Lie looked like fun at the time!
It's raining and 57 here in the Pacific Northwest. It feels like we won't get much summer at all. But it sure is green!
