Living in the air conditioning,
our house renovations have
almost come to a screeching halt.
In the relatively cool morning,
The Boyfriend was working on the new wiring
for the master bath. This called for being in the attic.
Being the cautious, (cowardly) type,,,
I insisted, (begged) that he quit for the day.
Do you want to know how hot it is here?
I didn't think so, as it's likely equally miserable where
you are.
I've been piddling with clay and mixed media
on wood panel
for a couple of days.
This is Suzanne.
Her friends worry she may be anorexic,,
but she eats like a bird.
Our heat index is 114 degrees, and has been around that all week.
'ol Suzie might be removing her dress soon.

i cannot even imgine moving through any day in this kind of heat. you stay inside when you can, babs, right?
and yet, your art is interesting as ever. i have to look at her more, but i know i like her.
♥
Suzie may melt any moment in heat like that.
Rain all day, in the 60's. I think summer is passing us by this year, but I will take the 60 degrees over your heat index!
I hope you can stay comfortable.
Oh my that is more than hot! I would just be a snail and not move.
One thing I do in Summer is I carry around a spray bottle and spritze myself often. It is only 90 here and that is plenty hot for me!
Suzie is darling.
xoxo
Suzie is a cutie...I like the texture of her dress and oh those skinny legs!
Beach summer here, cool in the morning and sunny in the afternoon. I lived in a hot area for years and enjoyed the evenings when a breeze would show up.
I do not even want to imagine heat like that. No attic work, NO!!!!
We are pleasantly comfortable around 78 degrees and sunny and slightly breezy. About perfect I'd say. But no attic work happening here either. Just a lazy Sunday morning. Hope it cools down to reasonable where you are soon.
Oh, the heat there made me forget the art temporaily. Sorry. It's a delightful piece. I do hope she eats though. ;-)
ay yai yai. that sure is hot. glad you had the BF come down out of the attic. suzanne is so cute with the bird in hand. nice to hear you have a bit of time to create amidst all the renovations.
Sweet Suzie!
OMG Babs, 114??? Shoot me.
It's hot here today but not so bad. The humidity makes it tough some days but now we have a/s upstairs, yay!
Stay cool and hydrated, and keep doing Suzies ;)
xo
Lo♥
How did I miss this post??
I love Suzie. I love all your clay creations. I may need to branch out a littlewith my clay; see where it takes me. Scary thought.
How can you stand living where it's so hot? I would simply die! I'll stay here where the "real feel" is only 100.
Hi kj,
I stay in, yes I do! Unless absolutely necessary.
I'm glad you like the art, thank you!
Hey Leslie,
Hot and miserable as it is, I can't imagine 60's and raining all summer.I get depressed in day after day of dark and dreary. This is, however, ridiculous!
Annie, I have been a snail,,,,slugging along slowly if I have to go out.Even Mille the sheltie moves slower. That spritzer is a great idea.
Suzie thanks you!
Blue Sky, it sounds perfect there. I could use some cool mornings and evenings, to do some things outdoors. We're not getting them though. 90 something early and 90 something late, and dripping humidity.
She's glad you like her, and says thanks!
Lynn, 78 is pretty ideal, allright! If we even had a hot breeze it would help, but it's still,,,,not a breath of air moving around.Oklahoma City where we moved from has been as bad or even worse.
Suzie says to tell you she does eat,,just not a lot.
Suki, you're right,,,I'd have been busy with projects in the house and outside if it weren't for the heat, so it's not all bad! The Boyfriend didn't stay long in the attic.
Suzanne just adores birds, thanks!
Lolo, you won't believe it, but I have on a light weight sweater this minute, as The Boyfriend requires lots more a.c. than I do. He's currently dealing with (another) kidney stone, so I let him have his way. Poor guy!
Kate, I promise you wouldn't know the difference between real feel 114 and real feel 100. It's all miserable, and 4 more degrees really doesn't matter a lot.
YES,,branch out with the clay,,,I'm having more and more fun with it all the time. Bet you'd surprise yourself!
I'm glad you like her, thanks!
Gawwwd, I sure hope it's cooled down some since you posted this?
Tho' the idea of little Suzie disrobing does hold a certain appeal..!
