I can't resist old wood or old metal.
I've been working on this clay piece since before Christmas.
It's still in the very first stages
of rough, raw, and ready.
Kind of how it feels going into a New Year, right?
So how will you be celebrating?
The Boyfriend and I will likely have a glass,,,,,
and I will be giving birth.
Feet, hands, and a head for my
Girl Of 2012.
I wonder who she is, and I'm eager for her to show me.
And here's one of my favorite
things to think on for the New Year:
"I have learned
in whatever state I am,
therewith to be
content."
May you all be content in 2012!

so understand the addiction to the 'old', rust, etc., that is - a toast to you for the new year - it's going to be amazing xo
Lovely wish and it is returned to you and yours! Oh the ride we will ride and the things we will see! Enjoy your magic Babs!
Oh Babs....I share your love of old wood...(not so much metal *thingies*)...but then, I am not an artist who creates with her hands!
I love what you are currently working on - and cannot wait to see the finished product!
New Years Eve for me - even when I was with my Ex...was always a quiet affair.....sharing a meal (he is an excellent gourmet cook - yes, I miss those meals), a glass (or 2) of Champagne..... this year, I will attempt to cook *solo* - still enjoy that glass of Champagne...and think about how blessed I am to have the life I do - this includes wonderful FRIENDS - like you! I am so happy we have met!
I will raise my glass Southeast to you and your BF tomorrow night! Chin-Chin!
Hugs,
♥ Robin ♥

Amen! I have been learning the same. And not just content, but actually happy :-). Have a wonderful New Year and happy creating.xoxo
I love old wood and metal too, Babs, she is going to be so beautiful, I can see it in the fluid and lovely movement she has going on there! Happy New Year my Dear Friend!!
Oh isn;t she marvellous? I would buy her if she is ever for sale. Love the fluidity and movement and contrasts and mystery of her!
Have a wonderfully happy new year, a healthy and arty one dear heart. xxxx
She looks like a potter sitting at the wheel. I love old wood. Not metal. My ex now deceased was a sculptor, at first with wood then later with steel. I always love the wood best. My grandfather made many things out of wood, mostly useful things some I still have. Also a doll crib and horsey riding toy. A musical stool.
May your year ahead be filled with creativity. Now you are settled in your new home maybe you will have more time/energy/focus for your wonderful paintings and sculptures.
She is going to be spectacular! I can tell, already. She looks, strong, determined and in control - and she doesn't even have a head yet! Happy New Year Babs.
Happy New Years, Babs. Thanks so much for all your visits during my Dark Night of the Soul. It is true what "they" say...during times of difficulties, you find out who your true friends are...and they are not in my church. Just Thank You, and Happiest of New Years, Love Deb
that's really lovely babs, and contentment is a very good place to be.

What could possibly make for a better up-coming year?
(she asked)
If I could, I'd take all your words and make a poem, ala KJ.
Since I can't, I will just say thank you, to all who visit me here.
You are appreciated more than you can know.
XOXO

Katelin, helloooo! Somehow I'd lost you in a move and computer crash, so I am happy happy to see you here. I'm running right over to see what you've been up to!
