I've been having my own peace talks here.
Nope, not about the Middle East,
or Occupy,
or even
political candidates.
Peace Talks with my Clay Lady.
I'd been working with her into the wee,,,
having crawled into my time machine
and listening to some Janis.
"Little Girl Blue"
Music and a voice that touch me still,,
in places I'm normally not even aware exist.
I'm staring at the lady, and she's glaring back at me.
She's not happy.
"Whoa, hold the phone, stop right now!", she shrieked.
"This is not me, and no one I want to be!"
I was shocked, as her hands weren't finished,
and she had only half a skirt.
"I am not little girl blue, I don't wear skirts,
and I don't want pretty hair,
so don't even bother!"
So I'm back to the drawing board.
We're having conversations,
and it sounds to me like she's wanting an extreme
make-over.
I'm Listening.
I think she may be right, but she will have
a correct left hand and leg,
whether she wants it or not.
Time and product wasted?
Nope,
She's teaching me a thing or ten,
and that's always a good thing,
ain't it, Martha?

Funny how they are...
Enjoy the talks - hope it leads to a dance.
xo
Don't ya just hate it when art talks to you and tells you you've got it all wrong? At least YOU listen!
Seems she knows what she wants. I'd listen if I were you as it could get scary others wise!
I love it that you are listening to Janis and your little clay woman both. have fun.
Oh, yessiree, they do talk to us, these works of art! And we had better listen or we will be forever unhappy with the outcome. Sit quietly, sip some coffee, and wait. She will tell you who she is and it will become clear how you shoud proceed.
She is a tomboy, like me :-), good for her, good luck I know how it is, I have a few paintings telling me to go back to the drawing board.xoxo
Hi Leslie,,we are beginning to slowly twirl!
Lynn, it's a bit of a blow hearing it,,,but awfully hard to ignore this gal!
Mim, I know just what you mean!
You must have listened well to your clay,,,it's awesome!
Suki, for a while I thought Janis would drown out the clay lady. But she just got louder with each chorus.
Kate, I did just that,,you must have known that coffee cures lots of ills. Our conversations are making my path clear. I'm on it!
Annie, I suppose she is a tomboy,,although a weird one. You'll see.
As for your paintings,,,I certainly can relate,,,,but isn't it a fascinating journey?
Well, poo - doncha' just HATE that when you go to all that effort, n'all? I would try dress my girls up all lovely and frilly too - all to no avail (sigh). For what it's worth, I think she looks gorgeous just as she is..
Can't beat a bit of Janis, can ya'?
The listening part is far from easy yet I've always found the advice is always the best and as Leslie remarked "leads to a dance". Enjoy!
where have i been? i met this girl last week, but maybe i didn't comment until i was ready to say that i LOVE her. i especially love the way she sits. and she looks up with a combination of grit and faith. at least i think so.... :^)
good that you are flexible, babs. and oh so wise. because she'd figure out a way to screw things up otherwise, right?
you rock times 100/
plus i love you. you don't have to tell me back. i know :^)
love
guess who
She talks to me too, but a completely different conversation- but I suppose that's how it happens in life too.
